Hillside is made up of over 400 students and a wonderfully diverse community of families.  The PTA would like to welcome you to Hillside and ease your transition into the school and community.

To get you started, here is a quick checklist for new families:

  • Sign up for Hillside PTA’s email listserv, by clicking here.  The PTA uses this listserv to share information about upcoming events and activities, as well as the PTA’s monthly newsletter.

  • Join us on Facebook!  The PTA created a closed group page on Facebook where information is shared about school activities, upcoming PTA events, and reminders.  It’s a forum for connecting with other current Hillside families in order to share information, ideas, friendship and fun!  You can join here.

  • Follow us on Twitter!  The principal and PTA post pictures and updates about happenings at Hillside.  Follow us @Hillside_Elem.

  • Join the DISCOVER Email list.  DISCOVER is a district-wide e-newsletter. DISCOVER is emailed to families, staff, and subscribers and contains stories about the students, teachers, and programs from our schools, and news about recent accomplishments and awards.  You can Sign-Up Here.

  • Click here to learn more about our PTA and what we do.

  • Click here to learn about our many committees and volunteer opportunities.

  • Join the PTA by visiting here.  Registration for the 2017-18 school year is open year round and we hope you’ll join us.

  • Attend the Kindergarten Playdate or the New Family Playdate during the summer.  In late August, the school hosts playdates at the Hillside playground for new families to meet teachers, the principal and PTA Executive Board memebers.  It’s a fun way for families to meet other new families before the school year starts.

  • Attend Kindergarten Orientation Evening for the parents, as well as Kindergarten Prep.  At Kindergarten Orientation the parents will learn and receive information about Hillside School.  At Kindergarten Prep, the incoming kindergarteners will have the opportunity to spend time and do activities with their potential kindergarten teacher, while the parents have the opportunity to meet PTA Executive Board members and tour the school.
